“These up-and-coming artists are making waves in the Toronto music scene each with their own unique sound and aesthetic, making this line-up one that’s not to be missed.”

Canyon Entertainment’s hottest new artists are performing live at Toronto’s The Cavern on October 24th! Showcasing their music will be Ruchi, Black Creek Reign, Chad Beloin, IAMREBELWILL, and Toronto Poor Boy.
These up-and-coming artists are making waves in the Toronto music scene each with their own unique sound and aesthetic, making this line-up one that’s not to be missed. From hip-hop to R&B to pop, this showcase titled ‘Mixtape’ has it all. A mixtape is a “compilation of favourite pieces of music, typically by different artists recorded by a medium”, which perfectly describes this live event.
Ruchi is an R&B singer-songwriter who has spent most of his time abroad, and one can say that has greatly influenced his sound. Residing in Canada only two years ago, Ruchi takes into account the diversity of his experiences and infuses it into his music. Ruchi will be performing original music, which he describes as an artistic showcase that portrays his life.
Black Creek Reign is a reggae and funk band whose members include Darren Armoogam, Lex Stultz, and Jake Birman. Their sound is very much influenced by blues, rock, and pop. Black Creek’s sound is both catchy and memorable. The Toronto-bred duo has played some notable venues including The Opera House, the Horseshow Tavern, the Silver Dollar, and the Hard Rock Cafe.
Pop artist and songwriter Chad Beloin boasts a collection of 100 original songs, which he’s written over the course of his long career in the music industry. Two of his songs have been released internationally. This year he intends to produce and release a new record.
IAMREBELWILL pens the trials and tribulations of love, heartbreak and being in a modern-day relationship while exploring the fluidity of sexuality. IAMREBELWILL uses his voice to challenge the stereotypical perspective in mainstream music and helps others to be their true authentic selves. A modern-day triple threat, he strives to provide entertainment perfect at every show.
Toronto Poor Boy is a Jamaican-born Canadian hip-hop artist. He carefully blends hip-hop and reggae to create an entirely new sound that is raw and gritty. He pushes the boundaries of ordinary music in order to save hip-hop from what it has become. That’s what makes Poor Boy so distinct. His past experiences are what inspire him and are exactly what fuels his thought-provoking music.
The Cavern can be found at 76 Church Street, Toronto, ON. Doors will open at 7:30 pm and performances will begin at 8:00 pm.
