Pop-rock sister trio Haim has once more utilized Paul Thomas Anderson’s directing chops for the music video of their new song “Lost Track.” The popular group has worked previously with Anderson on multiple videos as well as on the director’s new movie Licorice Pizza. Haim will be embarking on a four-month long tour around North America starting this April.
Pop-rock group Haim has again collaborated with renowned filmmaker Paul Thomas Anderson to shoot a video for their new single “Lost Track.” The all-female band consists of sisters Este (bass, vocals), Danielle (guitar, drums, lead vocals), and Alana (guitar, keyboards, vocals) Haim and has been on a constant rise in popularity since 2012. Anderson has shot a few music videos for Haim before and worked with the sisters for his latest movie Licorice Pizza, which received several Academy Awards nominations and garnered critical acclaim for Alana. The video was filmed in Southern California during a W Magazine cover shoot.
Haim developed a relationship with Anderson through the sisters’ mother, who reportedly taught the director art in elementary school. Anderson has been Haim’s go-to music video director since they connected. Theirs has been a mutually beneficial relationship, with music and movie lovers alike gaining an appreciation for the crafts of both the band and the director through their collaborations over the years.
Aside from collaborations with Anderson, Haim has also contributed music to the soundtrack of a Netflix original film called The Last Letter from Your Lover starring Shailene Woodley and Felicity Jones. The song, “Cherry Flavored Stomach Ache” came out in July of 2021.
Following the release of their new music video, the world-class trio will embark on a 2022 tour of North America running from April 24th – July 27th. The tour will feature support from acts such as Waxahatchee, Faye Webster, and Princess Nokia among others.
