2023 is off to a great start, and Mauve is accompanying it with the release of a new single, “Weary,” with record label by Canyon Entertainment Group.

For Canadian singer-songwriter Mauve, the feeling she gets from creating music is the ability to take listeners into an altered reality.

In this new song written for Mauve and produced by Garrett Lajoie, Mauve brings it all out in a vulnerable and honest song about her doubts and insecurities. She shares the depth of her own experiences while allowing the music to relate universally to the song’s emotions.

Growing up, Mauve was constantly inspired by theatrical performances and turned to her piano to translate that passion into her daily life. With a rich voice, she eventually devoted herself to transmitting that passion through her singing.

Some of Mauve’s famous influences include singers Amy Winehouse and Sia. Mauve has also mentioned her appreciation for Toronto, her hometown, for offering her such varied opportunities to explore different musical styles thanks to its vibrancy and diverse people.

The Canadian alt-electro-pop singer and songwriter approaches this new single with an emotional tone that transfuses her reflections on her experiences with her gratitude.

Her latest song, Dream State, generated 2.9 million views on YouTube alone and featured collaborations with top artists in the industry, including Kyle Shearer, Jason Couse and LYRE, among others. She recently released her debut album “Dream State,” on which she collaborated with industry heavyweights.

“For me, sound has the ability to express feelings and connect people through the different colours of tone. It’s like painting, but with sounds… like the different colours you experience in life.” Mauve says.

Mauve has some great performances to her credit, including a performance at Toronto’s famed Sneaky Dee’s, an appearance at the Toronto Music Expo and headlining at weekly Rib & Beer festivals across Southern Ontario for three years.

Mauve‘s original songs have also gained 1.6 million streams on Spotify, and she has been nominated for 3 Mississauga Music Awards and 2 MARTY Awards.
