Canyon Entertainment Group is excited to launch Girl Pow-R—a new, all-girl pop rock band made up of talented girls ages 11 to 14. To help shape the group’s development, Canyon has partnered with two leading music organizations: Invisible Werks and PG Productions.
These partners will support every step of the group’s journey—from selecting performers and creating original music to vocal coaching and live performance training. Girl Pow-R gives a voice to young girls and empowers them to inspire others through music.
Meet the Team Behind Girl Pow-R
Music producer and songwriter Angel will lead the music direction. He brings years of experience and has worked with Juno and Grammy-nominated artists. Angel will provide in-studio coaching and produce songs that reflect real issues youth face today. He’ll also direct the group’s music videos.
“Let the music speak for itself,” Angel says.
PG Productions
Renowned vocal coach Paula Griffith from PG Productions will guide the group’s vocal training. Paula has worked with stars from shows like The Next Star, Da Kink in My Hair, and Matilda. Many of her students have signed with major labels including Warner, Universal, Sony, and more.
A professor at Seneca College, Paula created Canada’s first accredited Pop/R&B vocal program. She’ll prepare Girl Pow-R members for both live and studio performances.
Why Now?
Today’s youth are often influenced by older artists in their late teens or twenties. Girl Pow-R brings a fresh voice—led by girls of the same age as their audience. Executive Producer Dawn Van Dam believes in the power of positive music to uplift and encourage young people to find and share their unique gifts.
“This type of energy is what today’s youth needs,” says Van Dam.
The band aims to represent diverse backgrounds and blend pop and rock styles with inspirational messages and energetic performances.
Auditions Now Open
Canyon Entertainment Group is hosting a video audition process for young female singers aged 11–14 of all backgrounds. Performers must showcase one song that reflects their personality, vocal range, and energy.
Selected girls will have the opportunity to train with top industry professionals, perform at summer festivals in the Greater Toronto Area, and be part of original music videos.
